The DeLand Elks Lodge #1463 is hosting a Carnival in order to raise funds to purchase much needed technology in a local elementary school. They approached the Elks, for assistance.
5K Run DeLand BULLDOGS
5K run to benefit the DeLand Bulldogs on August 10th. It is a Friday night run and will begin at 7pm. We want to kick off the school year and football season with this event. We are encouraging groups and clubs to run and join in the fun. We will have spirit contests ie...best decorated shoes and most spirited t-shirt. Plus we will have door prizes for those who participate. The Bulldogs Paws for a Cause Friday Night Lights 5k Run .

Your West Volusia Neighborhood Center is desperately low on food
and will NOT make it 2 more weeks without help. This center now sees
30-50 people per day. The need is extreme. There are many children
during the summer months who do not receive the school meals.

Florida Museum for Women Artist NEW SHOW
FLORIDA MUSEUM FOR WOMEN ARTISTS EXHIBIT TO FEATURE INSTALLATION ART PIECES
DeLand, FL: The Florida Museum for Women Artists is pleased to present the installation exhibit Witness to Creativity III. The exhibit will be on display from June 22, 2012 through August 18, 2012.
Watching art being made can be very inspiring. It allows the viewer to see the process in action instead of just the finished product. Witness to Creativity III gives visitors such an opportunity. Ten art pieces will be installed through the week culminating in an exhibition that will remain in place until Saturday, August 18th. Beginning on Wednesday, June 20th, the public can engage the artists about their projects, work methods and messages.

The Rand McNally/USA Today Best of the Road Rally is Coming to DeLand!
DeLand has been selected as a finalist for the Most Patriotic Town in America! A team will be here on June 24th & 25th to collect information and video to help decide the winner.
What can you do to help show how the DeLand community is patriotic?
Fly your flag and wear your red, white and blue!
If you are a business or church with a marquee, display a patriotic message or simply say "God Bless the USA". If you don't have a marquee you can decorate your storefront or window.
Join in the action at 4pm on Sunday, June 24th at Conrad Park for a patriotic ceremony followed by a DeLand Suns home game. Free admission for veterans, those in uniform or anyone wearing red, white & blue.
Let's pack the stadium and let them see why DeLand is the most patriotic town in America!
